I’m Still Here!

June 11th, 2010 | Category: Daily, Fitness, Social Butterfly, Work

I saw Sex And The City 2 last week with my sister and her friend. I really enjoyed it, though not as much as the first. I love Samantha. She’s definitely my favourite character! I also watched Shrek Forever After over the weekend. Cute movie, but not as many laughs as the previous movies.

I’ve changed the layout back to an older one for the time being. I plan on making another one… eventually. I’ve just been so busy trying to adjust to all the changes around me lately that I haven’t had much time to sit and work on anything website related – hence the lack of updates.

I did my first paid shoot a few weeks ago of my friend Lisa and her boyfriend Aaron. She says she loves the pictures I sent her, which I’m so happy about! It was fun shooting them, and they did really well despite all the blackflies. Such a cute couple!

I’ve been seeing a personal trainer for about 7 weeks now, and it’s going great! I’ve lots 4lbs so far, although the only difference I’ve noticed is I can actually see my bicep muscle now. I’ve been going biking once a week with a friend as well. It’s good… except for the mosquitoes. The only downside of living in the bush.

I’m Old!

February 12th, 2010 | Category: Events, Social Butterfly

I turned 24 today. I’m almost half way to 50. Not cool. It’s funny, I get excited for my birthday, but at the same time I dread it. I really hate getting older. It’s been a fear of mine ever since I was a kid. As silly as it sounds, I used to cry myself to sleep many nights as a kid just thinking about getting older. It depresses me!

Last Thursday I started a communication group, and yesterday was my second time going. The group is to teach us how to communicate better with people, how to react to different situations, as well as build confidence and self awareness. I’m actually enjoying it, which I didn’t think was possible. And an old friend of mine is actually in the group with me, who will remain nameless since everything is confidential. I’ve only been to two sessions, and already I’m learning and feeling better. There are going to be six more, and I’m looking forward to it!

I have a few people lined up to photograph in the near future. I’m so excited for it! I hope everything goes smoothly and both the people I’m shooting and me are happy with the outcome. I will post pictures after I take them!

I have such a headache. Today was definitely not my day. Right from the moment I got up, things started going wrong. The biggest being that I have to reapply for my Employment Insurance since my access code was lost in the mail… so I basically have to start from scratch. I could of been receiving money the entire time I’ve been laid off, and I haven’t been.

I’ve been looking for more part-time work since it doesn’t look like I’ll be going back to work anytime soon, if at all. I’m getting the feeling I won’t be hired back this year. If that happens, I don’t know what I will do. I will be screwed, to put it lightly.

Next weekend is my birthday weekend! I’m going to a friend’s place for the weekend to celebrate with her. I think one of her friends will be joining us too. I can’t wait, I just wish I wasn’t so broke because I wanna get wasted. LOL.

New Layout + Update

January 09th, 2010 | Category: Events, Family, Site, Social Butterfly, Work

I finally threw together a new layout since I had the previous one for over a year. I’m not really digging it, though. But whatevs, it’s staying for now.

My Christmas and New Years went pretty well. Christmas was spent with family; opening presents in the morning, having a big breakfast, then over to my aunt’s for a turkey dinner… with TONS of desserts. Speaking of which, I’ve totally gained 5lbs since I’ve been out of work. Not doing anything + eating lots of junk = bad Amy :( I need to change that!

For New years I had one of my good friends come to my place for some drinking, hot tubbing and dancing. We started early, so we barely made it past midnight. I think I passed out around 12:30. Ha! But it was fun. The day after I think we both took it easy, I drove her home around noon and I spent the rest of the day lounging on the couch watching movies.

I’m still not back at work yet, but I have been working part time with my sister and her job doing clerical work as well as cleaning. I like it there, but I can’t wait to start painting again. I think it will still be some time before it starts back up.

I don’t think I’ve posted this on here yet, but I did on LJ quite awhile ago… I’m going to be an aunt. My lil’ sister is having a baby, due this summer (I think the due date is July 7th… but don’t quote me on that).

Oh, and I just got an email back from the local pilot instructor about when classes start and costs. They start in March so I’m hoping I can come up with the money for ground school/books in time to start them! I think I need about $570 plus tax. Fingers crossed I can do it!

Ok, I seriously need to get up and do something.

Retail Therapy

Retail Therapy

Originally uploaded by Amy-Marie

My friend Alicia and I went to the Eaton Centre and Vaughan Mills yesterday for some well-needed retail therapy. We are both so sore today from all the walking around we did. It didn’t help that we parked well over a kilometer away from the mall, and got lost trying to find the restaurant, not to mention all the walking we did while IN the mall. We totally got our cardio in yesterday.

I leave for Egypt in SIX days. It still doesn’t feel real. I feel so unprepared. I had a dream last night that it was the day we were leaving and I still hadn’t packed and was going to miss my flight. Not good! I still haven’t figured out how I’m getting to the airport on Saturday. I might take a shuttle from Barrie to Toronto, but that means I will still need a ride to Barrie.

My parents bought me zebra print luggage for my trip! I’m going to do a practice run for packing to make sure I can fit everything in them, and I still have to measure them to see if they fit the guidelines of air canada. Hopefully they pass!
