My Birthday Weekend
I spent my long weekend in Barrie, with my friend Alicia. It was great to get out of the house and do something. I went down on the Saturday and came back on Monday. We spent Saturday afternoon painting her apartment, which only took 4.5 hours, including clean up. We did both the ceiling and walls; She did the trim on her own Monday evening. I think the colour looks amazing, and totally compliments her cupboards.
After painting we had pizza and garlic bread for dinner – SO good. Especially since we both didn’t eat that day. We were starving, and ate it all! We went to one of the local bar/clubs in Barrie to celebrate my birthday, which was so fun. We called it a night at 1:00am because our feet hurt so bad. It had been a long time since I had worn heels… and we both wanted street meat. It was totally worth the walk to get it, too.
Sunday we mostly spent the day around the apartment. We went to Starbucks in the AM because we were both in dire need of caffeine. Alicia did a couple errands at the bank and Walmart, and then we went back to the apartment. At about 7pm we went out so I could practice shooting people, and took some shots of Alicia by the waterfront, but we didn’t stay long as it was freezing. I’m not too happy with the shots. Even the composition was horrible. But the only way to get better is to practice, right?
We rented the The Time Traveler’s Wife, which wasn’t too bad of a movie. It was a little weird, and some parts don’t quite add up, but it kept me entertained, plus I love Rachel McAdams. Alicia also made cookies. They were ah-maz-ing!
While I was in Barrie, I went to Chapters and bought Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith. I am in love! I’m bringing it with me everywhere, and I’m addicted! It’s so much fun, and a boredom killer. Loooove it!

I love Rachel McAdams, too! I don’t know how anyone couldn’t NOT love her. She is adorable
You’re so cute, Amy! I love your crown.
I keep hearing people talk about Wreck This Journal. It looks like so much fun, but I never have the time to start something like that.
Happy Birthday!!
it was fun!
I wore a crown just like that out for my birthday a few years ago
Well your birthday seems like it was quite fun and The Time Traveler’s Wife…oh gosh I cried to that movie lol.
The Time Traveler’s Wife was SUCH a good movie, and an even better book! Glad you got to get away and have some girl time!
The paint does look great with the kitchen cupboards.
I’m glad you had a fun birthday! I’ll be interested to see where I happen to be on my upcoming birthday. I could be in Ontario too lol.
