History
I first started web designing (if you can even call it that back then) when I was in grade 8, so I was about 13 years old. My First site was Nick-O-Licious, a fan site dedicated to Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. I used Page-Builder when I first started the site, but after about a year, my dad began teaching me the wonders of HTML.
I started joining a bunch of cliques with Nick-O-Licious, and decided I’d like to make one of my own, and that’s when Forever Don’t Seem Like Long Enough came around. It was a clique for those who, as Nick says, “Live life to the fullest for the future is scarce”. It was hosted by Cat, only then her domain was In-Your-Eyes.net. I only had about 40 members or so, and my host couldn’t afford to run her site anymore, so that was the end of that.
I started another clique called Forbidden Love which was for those who loved someone/thing they could never have. I don’t even think I had one member for that, so I took it down.
I began looking at other people’s personal sites, and I enjoyed reading about them, and doing the interaction stuff, and thought I’d like to have my own personal site. I had almost completed it, and was ready to put it on the internet, when my computer caught a bad virus, and all was deleted. So I had to start over. But I finally got it up, and it was hosted by Kelly at Cute-Blonde.net, where it stayed for some time until Kelly decided she didn’t want her site anymore, and I had to either find someone else to host me, or buy a domain… and that takes us to saturate-me.org!
The Name
Saturate Me actually came from a song title off one of Mandy Moore’s CDs. The third song down was titled “Saturate Me” and I really didn’t want it to be a corny name like the one I was thinking of before I came up with this one (Razzberry Dream Drops *gag*). I actually had a list of what to name this bad boy, such as Only Footprints, Individuality, and like 15 others. Anyway, I posted the chorus to Saturate Me below. It’s actually a pretty good song.
“My soul is evaporating, won’t you saturate me, won’t you saturate me
Rain down on me with life
My soul is evaporating, won’t you saturate me, won’t you saturate me
Storm around me bring the tide”
